From Skulls Crossbones Artwork to a Madonna Gallery - Copy Cats Exist

Your creativity is unique to you.
People copy, they are copy cats! Artists, authors, musicians, inventors, etc., just about everybody worries about their unique to them idea. I am a visual artist and writer so I worry mostly about those kind of copy catters. Be it skulls crossbones artwork or a Madonna gallery, those guys are out there lurking.
Well my fellow creative, it is just the way things go and ya know this can happen anywhere you post your stuff. Unless you want to hide in a closet and never be seen or heard it is going to happen. I get this all the time.
One thing for visual artists is the worry that copy catters that are making prints of their work. Remember all you visual artists with prints, it is not possible to produce prints of any QUALITY off a low resolution jpeg. That is your safety net. You are just not going to be able to stop this problem.. and it is going to be a problem.. ANYWHERE. There will always be people who ruin stuff. Sad but true isn't it?.
I come across people who post my work on their sites and even on UTube leading to a porn site.. It can drive you wild I agree. Yet it seems to be the nature of the beast by having your work on the internet.
I tell people that they are welcome to post my work on their sites and stuff.. just be sure to give me credit and post my url with it. Some do and some don't.
I know it is frustrating. Just remember.. they cannot copy your imagination, not your Madonna gallery, not your skulls crossbones artwork, not pictures of kittens or cats.

I could go on and on about this.. I had a souvenir business for 20 years, made wheel thrown, hand sculptured pottery. I constantly battled copy cats. It is just the nature of the beast.
Soo ONLY POST LOW RESOLUTION JPEGS.. yeah? That is the best safety net you have if you indeed want to put your stuff ANYWHERE on the internet. Then.. just keep creating! Love your talent and fly with it.
