Forty-Three Million Americans Do Not Have Health Insurance - Uninsured

We have a problem with Health Care costs in the United States, it has gotten too expensive for most people. Recently the subject came up at the Online Think Tank and it was determined that it is economically unfeasible to provide free-health care to all citizens. Indeed a registered nurse asked;

"But what about the 43 million Americans who are uninsured and thousands more who are inadequately insured?"

This was duly considered and discussed and then another member stated;

"You are speaking to one, I only have major medical with a high deductable."

And then he went into a speech about the frustrations of many in America and stated:

"The illegal aliens and Jerry Springer crowd already gets free healthcare, no one is denied, and this runs up the tabs for everyone else. We have 80 hospitals out of business along the Mexican Border. In Los Angeles 35% of all babies born are born to illegal aliens who never pay. So this raises the costs for all. When people show up at the emergency rooms we all pay more and the costs are outrageous too."

Personally, I tend to understand all the various points of view and indeed, I have always liked Michael Dell's program to help find "adopt a child for healthcare insurance program" check that out, it is a cool non-profit idea.

The discussion continued and the registered nurse then stated matter of factly that;

"The US ranks poorly in comparison to the other 28 industrialized nations when it comes to healthcare statistics."

You know I feel that these statistics are bad because we also have the cleanest water too. We have less incidents per 1000, but that is changing due to diabetes, bad diets, lack of exercise. We need Arnold back and more people promoting healthy living. Presidential Fitness Programs like I had when I was in school.
