People copy, they are copy cats! Artists, authors, musicians, inventors, etc., just about everybody worries about their unique to them idea. I am a visual artist and writer so I worry mostly about those kind of copy catters. Be it skulls crossbones artwork or a Madonna gallery, those guys are out there lurking.

Well my fellow creative, it is just the way things go and ya know this can happen anywhere you post your stuff. Unless you want to hide in a closet and never be seen or heard it is going to happen. I get this all the time.

One thing for visual artists is the worry that copy catters that are making prints of their work. Remember all you visual artists with prints, it is not possible to produce prints of any QUALITY off a low resolution jpeg. That is your safety net. You are just not going to be able to stop this problem.. and it is going to be a problem.. ANYWHERE. There will always be people who ruin stuff. Sad but true isn't it?.

I come across people who post my work on their sites and even on UTube leading to a porn site.. It can drive you wild I agree. Yet it seems to be the nature of the beast by having your work on the internet.

I tell people that they are welcome to post my work on their sites and stuff.. just be sure to give me credit and post my url with it. Some do and some don't.

I know it is frustrating. Just remember.. they cannot copy your imagination, not your Madonna gallery, not your skulls crossbones artwork, not pictures of kittens or cats.

Your creativity is unique to you.

I could go on and on about this.. I had a souvenir business for 20 years, made wheel thrown, hand sculptured pottery. I constantly battled copy cats. It is just the nature of the beast.

Soo ONLY POST LOW RESOLUTION JPEGS.. yeah? That is the best safety net you have if you indeed want to put your stuff ANYWHERE on the internet. Then.. just keep creating! Love your talent and fly with it.

If your callers to your company hate your voice mail (although you may not know they do), youre not alone. But lets put the blame where it properly belongs on people, not technology. Before you dispute this, have a momentspatience and listen to the rest of this article.

I get locked in voice mail jail where my call gets sent around in circles, I cant get to a real person, I can never reach Jane/John because they never answer their phone and I know theyre not always away from their desk. If these are your frustrations or your callers, people are the cause.

Voice mail is simply a technology with specific functions. Whether these functions are turned into benefits or frustrations for the caller is totally dependent on the people who design the system and those who use it.

System Design

The design governing how the voice mail system operates of how callers are introduced to it, directed by it, and allowed to interact with it is all governed by a person. The goals for the design of voice mail are convenience and ease of use for both of these callers. Voice mail must be a benefit, not a source of frustration for everyone.

So whats the proper design? Here are a few principles toward creating a system thats quick, convenient, enjoyable, and efficient for everyone:

1. A caller should be able to press the zero button on tone phones and get to a person immediately. This button should be able to be pressed immediately after a message starts playing without waiting until the end of the message.
2. At anytime, during any message, a caller should be able to press the zero button for an attendant.
3. In order to get to an attendant, someone must be assigned to be available at all times to answer these calls.
4. If a menu of options are used, the menu item should be described first followed by the number to press. This is logical but not always done. The caller needs to hear the description first, in order to know if thats the choice they need. If you state the number first, the caller is likely to forget it by the time the description has finished.
5. The first choice in a menu of options should be to press zero for an attendant.
6. For a menu of options, a maximum of four, maybe five, options are best with the use of sub-menus rather than having six or more choices to which the caller must listen. It becomes confusing to try to remember too many choices at one time. Also, descriptions for menu options can state two items, or three at the most, for one option. (Look at the example below.)
7. Keep the words describing each menu option friendly but to a minimum. Dont use unnecessary words such as please or now as in for customer service, please press one now. In this case, please is not a courtesy, it is a discourtesy. The goals are quickness and convenience to get to the right person or department. Adding unnecessary words, adds to the total time to get through the choices, defeating the goals and efficiency of voice mail.
8. If customer service is provided as an option, it should be given as the first choice. This is a courtesy to your existing customers; they should be served first. This has the added benefit of showing callers who are prospects for your products or services, that you emphasize serving your customers. This will make the caller feel good that you will service them after the sale.
9. Tell the caller how many choices to expect. This tells the caller that the menu selection will be short and the message wont be going on forever.
10. Ideally, your voice mail system should allow callers to wait in queue if the extension is busy, tell the caller what number they are in the queue, and while waiting, give the caller the option of pressing a button to leave a message if they decide not to continue waiting. This is a very powerful benefit to the caller. It allows recapturing an option that is often unavailable in many voice mail systems when switching to voice mail from a real person.
11. After getting an individuals voice mail message that they arent available, the caller should be able to press zero to get to an attendant. At this point, the caller may want to know if the person is anywhere in the building or to have the person paged.

Proper Voice Mail

Properly designed and used, your callers will appreciate the quick and convenient service of voice mail even more than immediately reaching an attendant. They will still feel in control of their call which will make them feel at ease with your company and pleased with the efficiency of your organization. Voice mail may be the first step in establishing efficient and effective voice processing communications systems for your company.

Time relentlessly marches on and you grow older year by year but do you have to look your age?

The easiest way to an instant face lift is to get a hair cut.

You see, long hair visually drags down your face, making you look more mature. Older. Go for a hair cut by a professional hair stylist for a cut that visually lifts your appearance, making you look years younger. Get you hair colored but ask your stylist for advice. Pick a color in the family of shades that suit your natural skin tone. Go lighter to soften your features. Darker hair color can be aging. If your hair is snow white, you might want to keep it that way. I have an aunt who let her hair stay white and she looks much younger than she did when her hair was black or any other color. I didn't notice any lines on her face and she looked vibrant. Stunning, actually.

Next, look at your wardrobe. Do the clothes you wear age you? Specifically, do the colors you wear make you look tired? Drawn out? Older? Harsher?

Take some time to re evaluate your colors. You need four scarves or t-shirts or towels or fabrics large enough to drape around your face in these four colors. Royal blue, light blue, orange and peach. With these, you can evaluate the family of colors that flatter you best.

Sit in natural sunlight and look at your face carefully in the mirror. Drape the royal blue fabric around your face. Does the color make you look older? Younger? Tired? Radiant?

Do that with each of the other three colors. Now which color makes you look your best?

• If royal blue makes you look youngest, then your colors are black, pure white and the pure colors of the rainbow.
• If light blue makes you look better, your colors are gray, pure white and pastel versions of rainbow colors
• If orange is your best color, go for ivory, earth tones, brick, corals, turquoise, oranges, golds and the colors of autumn leaves.
• If peach is your color, go for warmer pastels and ivory.

Throw out anything in your wardrobe that's not in your colors as those would make you look older. Replenish your wardrobe with clothes in colors that actually suit you. Do the same with your makeup colors

Owning a craftsman home plan is like owning a piece of history. Some of America's most prominent architects designed the Craftsman style home. The designer we think of most was Gustave Stickly. Automatic sprinkler system controllers are programmed to go on and off on a certain day and at a certain time. The controller does not know if it is sunny and dry outside or raining. For this reason every lawn sprinkler system should have a rain sensor.

The rain sensor determines whether or not enough rainfall has occurred in order to skip an irrigation cycle. There are three basic types of rain sensors. They all serve the same purpose: keeping your system from over-watering the turf or your garden. How does it do that? The electrical connection between the sensor and your sprinkler system controller is interrupted when a certain amount of rain triggers the device. The sensor breaks the electrical connection so that electricity cannot flow to either the sprinkler valves or to a pump start (if your system is on a well without a pressure tank).

One type breaks the connection by weighing the water in a rainfall collection cup. The problem with this type is that leaves, sticks, or the occasional lizard will find its way into the collection cup and therefore turning off the system.

The next type uses electrodes to determine how much water is in the collection cup. This kind of rain sensor device also has a system problem of collecting things other than rainfall in the collection cup.

The most common type of rain sensor used by professionals is the expansion disk device. This kind of sensor does not use a collection cup; instead rainfall causes cork disks to expand. This device uses a pressure switch to break the electrical connection. These can be adjusted in increments of to the desired rain fall setting. This adjustment is usually set to turn off the sprinklers after of rain has fallen.

The most important aspect of installing a rain sensor is where to place it. It should be installed in an area that is unobstructed by trees, roof over hangs, or anything else that might block rain from getting to the sensor. If it is a wired sensor, placement is generally near the sprinkler controller. The wires should be connected inside the controllers valve wiring panel. This allows for easier electrical trouble-shooting of the system as the sensor can be easily disconnected.

In the last few years, FM wireless rain sensors have become very popular. Although they are more expensive than the wired devices, the ease of installation and increased placement options offset the cost. Most wireless units come with by-pass switches built into the device. Some digital controllers also offer by-pass options for both wired devices and wireless rain sensors.

No matter the type of rain sensor type that you choose, all rain sensors offer many advantages over not adding this detector to your automatic sprinkler system. Some of the immediate and long term benefits include:
Saves Money. Whether you pay for city water or spend electricity running a pump, the money you save over time will more than pay for the rain sensor.
Extends Sprinkler System Life Span. Irrigation systems are made up of moving parts. If the system parts are utilized less frequently (during the rainy season), they last longer.
Protects Water Resources. By limiting the over use of your sprinkler system, rain sensors reduce excess water run-off that carries fertilizers and pest control chemicals into our shared water supply.
Conserves Water. Less water is wasted when less supplemental water is needed for your turf and in your garden.

How much money can you save with a rain sensor device?

It will vary based on your water source (city, re-claim, or well) and where you live (water costs, electrical rate, climate). Here is one example that demonstrates the benefits listed above:
